Manila, July 10, 2000 — The Philippine Web Awards has now launched. Now on its third year, the Awards this year will be at the forefront of the dot-com fever. With new e-commerce sites, Internet IPOs, VCs and buy-outs getting immense attention, the Philippine Web Awards becomes more relevant, and, as can be expected, more popular.

This year, with stiffer competition, the Web Awards has set higher standards and revised the rules and procedures. In anticipation of the larger number of entries, the Awards also has added more categories. Categories such as Cause-oriented, Celebrities and Personalities, Community, News, Non-profit Organizations, and Technical Excellence have been introduced.
